Walden Security Designated as a 2024 VETS Indexes 5 Star Employer

April 16, 2024

CHATTANOOGA, TNWalden Security proudly announces our designation as a VETS Indexes 5 Star Employer in the 2024 VETS Indexes Employer Awards.

The 5 Star Employer ranking recognizes Walden Security’s commitment to recruiting, hiring, retaining, developing, and supporting veterans and the military-connected community. “The extraordinary efforts of Walden Security have earned the organization one of our highest awards,” said George Altman, president of VETS Indexes. “Even with hundreds of employers in the running, the veterans program at Walden Security stood out from the rest.”

This is the third year Walden Security has been recognized by VETS Indexes. Walden Security was first designated as a Recognized Employer in 2022 and rose to a 3 Star Employer in 2023. The 5 Star Employer status is the highest level available and marks a significant rise from the 3 Star Employer ranking received last year.

Walden Security has many initiatives that support our commitment to hiring and supporting veterans, including:

  • In 2023, Walden Security’s footprint expanded significantly across 49 states. With the expansion, Walden Security attended veteran-specific recruiting fairs and partnered with veterans organizations and local entities to recruit veterans to join our team.
  • In honor of Veterans Day 2023, Walden Security recognized the service and sacrifice of our veteran team members by sharing their stories across publications.
  • Walden Security President Michael S. Walden is a veteran and has endowed The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Veteran’s Entrepreneurship Program (VEP). The program supports veterans by training them to transfer their military skills to the civilian world and become successful entrepreneurs.
  • Walden Security also supports veterans once they are members of the Walden Security team through opportunities for growth, training, leadership development, and a wide range of benefits, such as the Employee Family Scholarship program.

This year, VETS Indexes received a record number of 344 organizations submitting surveys for the VETS Indexes Employer Awards. That is an increase of more than 100 from 2023 and nearly triple the number from two years ago. Of those 344 organizations, VETS Indexes recognized 285 organizations across the following award levels: 5 Star Employer, 4 Star Employer, 3 Star Employer, and Recognized Employer. Not every organization made the cut—only those demonstrating a strong commitment to veterans, National Guard and Reserves members, and military spouses.
