Walden Security proudly announces our designation as a VETS Indexes 5 Star Employer in the 2025 VETS Indexes Employer Awards. This is the second year we have received the 5 Star designation, the highest level available in the VETS Indexes Awards, which recognizes our commitment to hiring and supporting veterans and the military-connected community.
“Walden Security has demonstrated exceptional support for veterans and the military-connected community, earning the organization one of the most prestigious awards possible in the VETS Indexes Employer Awards program,” said George Altman, president of VETS Indexes.
“Even as more organizations than ever before are recognizing the uniquely valuable skills that veterans bring as employees, the efforts of Walden Security to recruit, retain, develop, and support those who served, as well as their families, stand out from the pack. Walden Security is among the very best veteran employers, and its program can serve as a model for others.”
We have many initiatives that support our commitment to veterans, including:
- A dedicated Veterans page on our website where veterans and the military community can search for open jobs based on military-related skills and proximity to military bases.
- Our Benefits department hosts a quarterly Veteran Employee Resource Group (VetERG), which features virtual meetings for our veteran team members. Speakers are brought in to discuss topics identified by our veteran team members as useful for them, such as veteran benefits, resources, education, PTSD, counseling and more.
- Our quarterly publications feature a dedicated section for sharing the stories and achievements of our veteran team members.
- Walden Security President Michael S. Walden is a veteran and has endowed The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Veterans Entrepreneurship Program (VEP). The program supports veterans by training them to transfer their military skills to the civilian world and become successful entrepreneurs.
This year, a record total of 349 organizations completed and submitted surveys for the VETS Indexes Employer Awards, more than ever before. Of those participants, VETS Indexes recognized 294 organizations across the following award levels: 5 Star Employer, 4 Star Employer, 3 Star Employer, and Recognized Employer. Not every responding organization made the cut – only those that demonstrated a strong commitment to veterans, members of the National Guard and Reserves, and military spouses. Participating organizations included companies large and small, government agencies and departments, nonprofit groups, colleges, and universities.
