Our SPOT Program is a surprise, on-the-spot award given to an employee. It celebrates our employees' hard work, initiative, professionalism, leadership and excellent incident response. A SPOT Award is a small way to honor and recognize our employees who consistently exceed expectations and deliver outstanding professionalism. Read below to meet some of our recent SPOT Award Recipients and the stories behind their SPOT Awards:
• Life-Saving CPR by Security Officers Darrell Kraft and Wade Hayes – Nashville, TN
Security Officers Darrel Kraft and Wade Hayes from Nashville, TN, immediately acted when an individual was reported unresponsive in a loading dock area. Upon arrival, they found the individual was not breathing and had no pulse. At that time, the individual had been unresponsive and not breathing for nearly 10 minutes. They began CPR, lasting several minutes until emergency services arrived. It was later discovered the individual had a diabetic episode. Their quick and effective response helped save the individual’s life.
• Consistent, Excellent Work from Utility Officer Sean Mills – Daniel Island, SC
As a Utility Officer, Sean Mills from Daniel Island, SC, is on standby at multiple sites as needed and must be available at a moment’s notice. It can be a challenging role, but as his Operations Manager highlights, he excels at it: “Utility Officer Mills is one of the most hard-working, honest and reliable individuals I have come across. Being a utility officer can be challenging, but he is the type of officer that you want on your team. He goes above and beyond his duties to ensure that the clients are cared for, and he is always there to help his fellow officers. He’s a tremendous leader.”
• CSOs Protect Naturalization Ceremony – Arkansas
Our team of CSOs from Arkansas includes Jeremy Kelley, Dennis Shores, Samuel Spencer, Terry Staggs, Donald Thompson and Denise Wilder. They provided security at an off-site Naturalization Ceremony. Nearly 450 citizens were in attendance, celebrating the 114 new US citizens. All the CSOs were commended for their efficiency and professionalism in maintaining security during the ceremony.
• Calm in Crisis by Cristobal Rodriguez – Chattanooga, TN
On his way to work as a Central Technology Center (CTC) Operator, Cristobal witnessed a car accident and stopped to help. One individual he helped was so thankful for his assistance, that they reached out to Walden Security after, saying: “Your employee was calm and reassuring. He quickly assessed both of us to make sure we were ok, and to make sure no one else was in our vehicles that needed help. I was so impressed by him…Your employee is a hero, and I am very thankful!”
